4,000 job vacancies in Oct. 26 job fair

MORE than 4,000 job vacancies are available for local and overseas applicants during the two-day Trabaho, Negosyo, Kabuhayan Job and Business Fair which is slated on October 26 to 27, 2017 at Felcris Centrale.

As of last Monday, October 23, there had been 42 local employers and 20 overseas employers that had confirmed attendance in the jobs fair offering a total of 4,377 job vacancies. Out of this number, 1,250 job vacancies are offered locally while 3,127 vacancies are for abroad.

Although the jobs fair will only be a one-day event and will run for October 26 only, Department of Labor and Employment (Dole)-Davao has already started with their pre-registration and mini jobs fair last Monday and will last until today, October 25.

Local employers that were present during the mini jobs fair include Lapanday, Six Eleven, Sutherland, Earthgain (Goldilocks), Sonic Sales, Motortrade, TaytaysaKauswagan, Inc., Watsons Davao, and Decoarts.

Overseas employers include Bison Management Corporation, Zontar Manpower Services, Inc., Placewell International Services Corporation, E-GMP International Corporation, 9 International Manpower & Recruitment Services Corporation, Akanan Manpower Corporation, Pisces International Placement Corporation, FVJ Overseas Placewel, Inc., Eyequest International Manpower Services, Inc., and LRC Manpower Services International, Inc.

Today, on the last day of the mini jobs fair and pre-registration, the local companies that will participate are Six Eleven, Sutherland, Sonic Sales, Direct Media, and Ascentria. For the overseas employers, Jenerick International Manpower, Inc., Joseline International Manpower Corporation, Skilled Management Corporation, Placewell International Services Corporation, and Zontar Manpower Services, Inc.

As for Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Davao, they will conduct different seminars wherein about 70 participants are expected to attend for each session.

Seminars include Entrepreneurship seminar on Upcycling Wearables and Homestyles and Financing Consultation among others. The seminars will be open to everyone including walk-in participants.

They will also have a coin recirculation program in partnership with Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas, wherein the participants can exchange their saved coins into bills to help recirculate the coins.

The Food Processors of Davao, with around 30 members, and the Davao Ecocrafts Association, with 20 members, will also showcase their products during the 2-day event.

The event is spearheaded by DTI-Davao and Dole-Davao in partnership with Philippine Health Insurance Corporation, Home Development and Mutual Fund, Social Security System, Securities and Exchange Commission, Cooperative Development Authority, Department of Science and Technology, Overseas Workers Welfare Administration, National Bureau of Investigation, Philippine Overseas Employment Administration, Public Employment Service Office, and Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.
