Hold-up suspect nabbed

ANGELES CITY --- An 18-year-old man involved in a recent hold up incident, which transpired at Bagong Bayan Subdivision in Barangay Cutcut here was arrested by police officers stationed at Police Station 5.

Raymund David Buan, 18, single, of Sitio Mali, Barangay Cutcut here, was arrested after having been suspected of stabbing and robbing a woman on December 27 along Belenzula Street in said subdivision.

Buan was charged before the Office of the City Prosecutor with Robbery with Frustrated Homicide.

At around 11:30 a.m. on December 30 last year elements of Police Station 5 led by Senior Inspector Deonido S. Maniago Jr., with the assistance of Barangay Cutcut officials, conducted a follow-up operation for the arrest of the suspects in the robbery.

On December 27, two persons riding a Blue Skygo motorcycle forcibly took the cellular phone of Marvelyn Vizcarra, 24, single, in the said subdivision.

One of the suspects reportedly stabbed the victim on the chest when she resisted.

The timely arrival of Bantay Bayan members scared the suspects away and saved the victim.

But the suspects, Maniago said, were not able to take their motorcycle with them when they fled.

The suspect’s identity was established after police traced the ownership of the motorcycle.

Buan’s companion was identified later as Albert Benzon, of legal age, single, a resident of Maligaya St., Barangay Cutcut, Angeles City.

The victim positively identified Buan as one of the two hold up men when presented by the police.

Prosecutor Oliver Sison ordered the detention of the suspect stating the arrest is lawful, police said.
