Duterte: I can't be of help to Felonia

DAVAO City Mayor Rodrigo Duterte said Monday that he could not be of help to anybody charged in court, in response to former Davao Regional Intelligence Unit director Leonardo Felonia's appeal for help.

Instead, Duterte told Felonia to answer the charges filed against him over alleged involvement in the murder of Cebu businessman Richard Lim King.

Felonia, upon his arrival in Davao City last Friday, asked the help of Duterte, referring to him as "father, brother, and idol," in seeking justice for King's death.

"He never really worked for me but as I said, lahat ng police na nagtratrabaho will have my protection...I do not mind you killing a dozen of persons everyday as long as it is duty connected or in the performance of duty, you will always have my help and that goes for everybody. Pero yung ganon na mag-byahe kang krimen na iyo ay mahirap yan," Duterte said.

Felonia is currently under the custody of the Davao City Police Office and his urgent motion for transfer to the Philippine National Police- Intelligence Group in Camp Crame, Manila is set for hearing on July 2. (KGL)
