THE youngest daughter of former Senator Tito Sotto and veteran actress Helen Gamboa is set to walk down the aisle this January.
Ciara, who is part of the 2009 Metro Manila Film Festival entry Mano Po 6: A Mother's Love, is set to say her "I do" to Joe Oconer, her non-showbiz boyfriend of four years.
According to Ciara, it will be a garden and Christian wedding and they are expecting about 200 to 250 guests.
The soon to be Mrs. Oconer also said it was an emotional moment for her mom when they finally asked her parents' blessings.
In a television interview, Helen said she cried upon hearing the news.
“I fell down the bed and cried and cried. I did not expect that it would be this soon,” she said. “I'm so emotional probably because I am the mother and my protective side prevails.”
When asked on her soon to be son-in-law, Helen said: “He is a good guy.”
“I know that she is marrying a good person, I don't have qualms or worries about it,” she added.
Ciara meanwhile said her marriage will not be a hindrance in her showbiz career for she was in the industry before she met her soon-to-be husband.
The bride to be will wear a creation by her bestfriend Mitch Dulce. Her bridesmaid will be Julia Clarete and the color motif of the wedding will be lavander. (Glaiza Jarloc/Sunnex)
