CEBUANO Warren Kiamco will join Team Philippines in the first World Pool Association (WPA) Team Championship on Jan. 30 in Hanover, Germany.
Kiamco, who is now considered one of the country’s pool treasures, will join the recently-crowned National Open champion Lee Van Corteza, former world No.1 Dennis Orcollo, Antonio Lining, double world titlist Ronnie Alcano and Marlon Manalo in Germany joust.
Some $400,000 in cash prizes will be at stake in the event, with the champion getting the lion’s share of $100,000.
The tournament, which will have the 8-, 9- and 10-ball matches, allows each country to send as many as six players. The team can be all-male, all-female or a mixed squad.
