YOUTH bowler Lee Martin emerged champion in the Lanemaster December Monthly Finals held at the NCCC Mall B3 Center over the weekend.

The twice-to-beat Martin beat lawyer Marc Fernandez in just one game to go home with the P5,000 cash prize and champion's trophy. Fernandez settled for P3,000 while third placer Manny Nierra received P1,000.

Martin garnered 1,284 pinfalls to grab the top spot after the qualifying games followed by Romy Tocop (1,236), Fernandez (1,205), Davao Tenpin Bowlers Association (Datba) president Ramsey Tancontian (1,201) and Nierra (1,169).

In the shutout games, No. 3 Fernandez beat No. 2 Tocop while No. 5 Nierra demolished No. 4 Tancontian.

Fernandez, however, bested Nierra to arrange a titular showdown with Martin.

In the weekly qualifying, Chris Llaguno rolled 874 pins to bag the title over Paquito Santos (809), Art Galendez (801), Paul Rabe and Pudz Valverde (784). (MLSA)
