Other massacre suspects ‘hiding’ in Davao

SOME of the 160 suspects in the Maguindanao massacre, wherein 57 journalists and civilians were killed, are allegedly hiding in the Davao Region to avoid arrest in Maguindanao.

Buluan Vice Mayor Ismael Mangudadatu earlier told the media that some 100 massacre suspects are hiding in Davao City and have firearms with them.

Davao City Police Office (DCPO) Director Senior Superintendent Ramon Apolinario admitted on Monday that it is possible that the suspects could be hiding not just in Davao City, but also in other parts of the region.

He said they already have photos of the massacre suspects and will be reproducing them for distribution to the different police stations in the city.

Of the 160 people who participated in the November 23 Maguindanao massacre, only a handful are in the hands of the authorities right now. Most of them are members of the Ampatuan family.

Many more are, however, still scot-free and are believed to be in hiding and still fully-armed. (BOT)
