Golden Harvest-Valencia joins Nofa Cup

THE vaunted Golden Harvest FC of well-known Mindanao coach Greg Ramos left for Bacolod City Negros Occidental on Sunday, April 29, to compete in the Negros Occidental Football Association (NOFA) Cup set on May 2 to 5 at the Sta. Maria Football field in Bacolod City.

Ramos confirmed the Bukidnon-based squad’s participation in the five-day tourney along with other Mindanao teams such as those from Davao, North Cotabato, Maguindanao and Zamboanga del Norte.

At least five from Luzon teams--07 Eagles, Blue Brothers, Malaya FC, One La Salles and Southridge--are also joining the 8-aside tournament for boys born 2006 and above.

Eight teams from the Visayas will also be competing.

They are Barotac Nuevo FC, Don Bosco Cebu FC, LGU Barotac Nuevo, NOFA team A, NOFA team 2, North Road Guesthouse-Bacong FC from Negros Oriental, the Negros Oriental Siquijor Regional FA (Nosirfa) team and the Springdale Titans of Cebu.

The Golden Harvest FC team is made up of top booters from Valencia City and will be reinforced by the players from Gingoog City, namely Sam Salingay and Cotamora who are Palaro campaigners themselves.

The official line-up of the team will be announced before the tournament’s opening on May 2.

The team managers’ meeting will be on the night of May 1.

The tournament is a project of NOFA president Ricky Yanson, aiming to give opportunities for provincial players to show off their football skills in a national level.
