Capitol workers still ask P10T cash gift release

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO - Some of the regular Capitol employees here on Tuesday again asked Governor Eddie Panlilio to release the promised P10,000 across-the-board extra cash gift.

This, even if the priest-turned-governor is asking the Provincial Board (PB) to revoke Ordinance 378 that entitles each of the 2,100 Capitol employees with P20,000 bonus.

Capitol employees here said the P10,000 extra cash gift is long overdue and they are badly in need of extra money at the start of this year.

The employees said Panlilio can embark on another "ordinance war" with the PB but the P10,000 extra cash gift should be released to them.

"The PB members are saying that Panlilio can release P10,000 first. We think that the P10,000 extra cash gift should not be placed on hold just because of a disagreement with the PB. Both parties should already solve this matter as Capitol employees badly need the money," one department head here said.

The employees said that Panlilio should release the funds and not be distracted by "political technicality."

Panlilio, in previous interviews, said he is standing by his decision to give P10,000 extra cash gift and another P10,000 performance bonus - contrary to the PB-approved P20,000 across-the-board extra cash gift.

However, the Provincial Government has yet to release the P10,000 extra cash gift, as Panlilio is still waiting for the PB to revoke Ordinance 378 and lower the extra cash gift to P10,000.
