MABALACAT -- A young seaman residing in this town was among the six Filipinos who died in a fire that partly razed an international cargo vessel in Venezuela recently.

Bryan Rey S. Pragamac, 24, of Dela Cruz-Lim Subdivision, sustained second-degree burns all over his body and died of suffocation, according to his wife Michaela May.

Pragamac's body arrived at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport in Manila on January 2 and it reached the Pragamac residence here Sunday night.

The victims' ship, Aegean Wind, left Brazil on its way to Houston, Texas in the United States when the tragedy happened.

The Sea Power Shipping Company, the agency which employed Pragamac, vowed to assist the family in burial expenses.

Pragamac had a two-year old son. His father is also a seaman.

Family members scheduled the interment on Saturday at the Concepcion Shrine in nearby Tarlac province. (Reynaldo G. Navales)
