Hundreds of flights canceled at Frankfurt airport (8:44 p.m.)

BERLIN — Hundreds of flights have been canceled at Frankfurt airport because of heavy snowfall.

Airport duty manager Heinz Fass said Saturday that 216 domestic and international flights had been canceled until noon.

Schoenefeld and Tegel airports in Berlin reported delays, but no cancelations.

In Nuremberg, an Air Berlin plane slid off the runway and got stuck in the snow late Friday night. Nobody was injured, but the airport was closed for more than two hours. (AP)
