NegOcc police ordered to intensify checkpoints

SENIOR Superintendent Samuel Nacion, officer-in-charge of Negros Occidental Police Provincial Office (Noppo), ordered on Monday all the city and municipal police station chiefs to intensify visibility patrol and checkpoint operations within their areas of jurisdiction.

Nacion said station chiefs should improve the visibility patrol and checkpoint operations to monitor the possible operation of criminals within their areas of jurisdiction.

“Policemen should not stay inside their police station. They should know on how to assess the prevailing situation in their areas,” Nacion said.

Nacion’s order came a day after about seven persons, including Fifth District Board Member Renato Malabor and his bodyguard Leody Jomilla, were killed in different areas of Negros Occidental during the weekend.
