THE Acosta Cup 2010 20 per 20 Football Tournament kicked off Saturday at the Tionko Football Grounds.

Davao Football Association's official Krishna Hernandez, also of the University of the Philippines (UP) Mindanao, bared this in an e-mail to this writer Friday.

Hernandez said the 9-A-Side competition will feature seven senior ladies football teams in Davao City. This event will run until March this year.

She said teams entered are the Holy Child School of Davao, Lady Knights FC, Medvil FC Black Team, Medvil FC Blue Team, Philippine Women's College varsity team, UP Mindanao Alumni FC and UP Mindanao varsity team.

Medvil Black battles Holy Child at 5 p.m. Saturday, while two matches pitting UP Mindanao against Medvil Blue over at field 1 and Lady Knights against UP Mindanao Alumni at field 2 will follow at 6 p.m.

The football tournament is presented by Davao City Mayor Rodrigo R. Duterte and Davao City councilor Mabel Sunga Acosta in coordination with the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor's Office. (MLSA)
