MANILA - Survival is the name of the game for Barako Bull when it faces Sta. Lucia Realty in the 35th PBA-KFC Philippine Cup elimination round at the Araneta Coliseum.

The Energy Boosters, who only have two games left, are facing a gargantuan task over the Realtors who are also all-out to salvage an outright quarterfinal entry.

Both Barako Bull and Sta. Lucia collide at 4 p.m, while Ginebra tries to keep its hope for automatic semis slot alive as it battles Burger King at 6:30 p.m.

Coach Leo Isaac of the Energy Boosters said they never lost hope of extending their campaign until the next round even with their current 3-13 record. Isaac feels they have a strong chance of sweeping their remaining two matches in the double round eliminations.

He expressed confidence they will win over the Realtors, whom they engaged in a down-the-wire battle before losing via overtime, 80-77, in their first meeting on Nov. 22.

With Yousif Aljamal, Chad Alonzo, Ogie Menor and Gilbert Lao at the helm, the Energy Boosters even took the lead at the half and stretched the gap to 56-48, going into the pivotal period before winding up the regulation at 66-66.

“We have a chance. We just have to play good defense,” said Isaac.

If the Energy Boosters win, they still have to contend with Coca-Cola on Wednesday to at least gain a possible playoff for the last wildcard slot.

In the other match, Ginebra is favored over the Whoppers, whom they defeated, 83-79, in the first round on Nov. 14.
