ILOILO City Mayor Jerry P. Treñas is set to issue a notice of award next week to the winning bidder of the P450 million new Iloilo City Hall after the completion of the participating bidders’ evaluation.
Trenas assured this after lawyer Edgar Gil, chairman of the Bids and Award Committee, informed him of the result of the bidding participated by three international contractors.
Gil said that only three bidders were qualified to bid in the seven-storey construction job of the new city hall, which will stand in front of Plaza Libertad at the city center.
Gil said the bidders and their respective bid amount, which is lower than the agency bid estimate of P449,997,893.54, include the Asset Builders Corporation with P395.16 million, Hilmarc’s Construction Corp. with P382.81 million, and FF Cruz Freyssinet with P368 million.
Treñas, however, said that project consultant Engineer Conrado Goco of Pacific Orient, a partner of building designer W. Coscoluella and Associates, is studying the bids of the three participants to determine their capability.
The mayor is still waiting for the consultant’s approval before issuing the notice of award to the chosen bidder, which will be held by the end of February this year.
