Mayor endorses policewoman to Metrobank tilt

THE Iloilo City mayor endorsed a policewoman as nominee in the search for the country’s outstanding policemen in service (Cops) 2010 search spearheaded by the Metrobank Foundation.

Mayor Jerry P. Treñas said that Police Senior Inspector Lourdes S. Banzuelo, chief of the Police Community Relation’s Section of the Iloilo City Police Office (Icpo), is active and efficient in community programs and activities like feeding programs in different public schools and day care centers in the city.

Banzuelo is also aware of the issues and concerns on the city barangays’ peace and order situation as she always attend dialogues with barangay officials, the mayor said.

As an over-all supervisor of the police auxiliary, Banzuelo contributed to the maintenance of peace and order by arresting criminals.

Treñas said he is proud of Banzuelo as a recipient of two national awards, such as the Ten Outstanding Policewoman of the Philippines in 2008 and as a Civil Service Commission (CSC) Dangal ng Bayan awardee in 2009. (LCP)
