“DIAMONDS are forever,” so goes this oft repeated line, which came to mind when we got the invitation to the "Diamond Wedding" anniversary of lawyer Mario Ortiz and educator-wife Julita Villacorta. Sixty years have gone by since two young idealists vowed “till death do us part.” It has been a fruitful and fulfilling union.

The Thanksgiving Mass and Renewal of Vows took place at the Blessed Pedro Calungsod Shrine with Cebu Archbishop Ricardo J. Cardinal Vidal officiating assisted by Rt. Msgr. Esteban Binghay, HP and Fr. Agustin V. Ancajas.
Happy, happy faces during the celebration were the diamond couple’s children and their families: Reynaldo and Chantal (Reliquet) with Vincent, Christophe, Fabien and Raphaelle; lawyer Danilo and doctor Melinda (Aquino) with Patricia Nicole and Dominic Daniel; Jerome Julius and Fara (Escala) with Gino Mario and Samantha Marie; Edwin Vincent and Ma. Monina (Mercado) with Miguel, Gabriel, Beatriz, Luisa, Ysabel Julia, Rafael and Angelo; Renato Valencia and Julie Marie with Kevin, Marie Renee and Justin Raven.
