IGOR Khovaev, ambassador of Russia to the Philippines, and Dmitry Larionov, first secretary of the Embassy of the Russian Federation in the Philippines, will visit Bacolod City Thursday, May 3, until May 5.
They will pay a courtesy call on Mayor Evelio Leonardia and Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr.
The Bacolod City Government will tender a welcome dinner for the ambassador on May 4, where he will meet city officials, business sector, and the media.
The ambassador will visit various tourist spots in Bacolod, Talisay, and Silay cities.
He will also attend the 1st Bacolod Chicken Inasal Festival on May 5 on Araneta St.
Khovaev graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations in 1988 and the Diplomatic Academy of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation in 1995.
He joined the diplomatic service in 1988. He was designated Ambassador of the Russian Federation to the Philippines in March 2015. (PR)
