PhilHealth owes Corazon Locsin Montelibano hospital P129M

THE Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) owed the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital a sum of P129,497,432.

Dr. Julius Drilon, regional hospital chief, told SunStar Bacolod on Thursday, May 3, that their updated PHIC receivables as of March 31, including 2016 and prior years, amount to P11,323,496; P52,032,590 in 2017; and P66,141,346.60 in 2018.

Their total receivables from PHIC is P129,497,432.60, he said.

The hospital badly needs money to sustain their operations as they were already drowning from their daily hospital expenses.

He hopes PHIC will start to pay their huge claims.

Meanwhile, PhilHealth interim president Dra. Celestina Ma. Jude de la Serna was questioned by the Commission on Audit on her travels to and from her hometown in Bohol where she spent at least P600,000 for her travels in just a year as officer-in-charge.

Media reports have it that the huge travel expense of the official came amid a massive net income loss of PhilHealth amounting to P8.92 billion, according to its 2017 unaudited financial statement posted online.
