SEVERAL Davao and Cebu-based designers owned one night of the latest four-day Panasonic Manila Fashion Festival (PMFF) in Metro Manila.

Homegrown exceptional talents who composed the Davao team were Aztec Barba, Edgar Buyan, Dodjie Batu, Benjie Panizales, Windell Mira, Bamba Limon, Emi Englis, Egay Ayag and Bea Abrigo. Meanwhile, the Cebu-based designers were Jun Escario, Dexter Alazas, Philip Tampus, Protacio, Marichu Tan, OJ Hofer, Mike Yapching and Philip Rodriguez. They all showcased their creations, which showed the marriage of elegance and creativity, on April 13.

From April 10 to 13, fashion lovers and industry movers gathered once again to witness different sets of exciting pieces in various runway shows. However, unlike the previous seasons, PMFF 8 “embraced innovation and championed a more elaborate take on presenting trends,” a statement from the organizer read.

In this year’s PMFF, Art Personas and Panasonic Philippines worked together, as the latter switched its branding to lifestyle to appeal to the younger market, especially that many young Filipinos have really been more aware of the latest global fashion trends and have become more tech savvy. With their partnership, they upgraded the runway experience through technology.

In a statement, it was noted that “The fashion event featured creations from all over the country that were shot using Panasonic LUMIX cameras, such as the G9 to show a more detailed image quality and GH5 and GH5S that exhibited a professional 4K video performance. Viewed through Panasonic 4K TVs, these created a much better experience and gave justice to the intricacy and complexity of each piece.”

It is worth noting that the members of the Davao team have been among the biggest names in the local fashion scene, and have been recipients of numerous awards and citations.
