NEGROS Occidental Acting Provincial Administrator Lucille Gelvolea said yesterday that Governor Alfredo Marañon Jr. is contemplating on having the controversial Negros First Animal Hub demolished.
"That is why the governor ordered the investigating team for a speedy investigation. Any action is still pending until the investigation is complete," Gelvolea said.
She said the governor initially entertained the idea of having the structure built at the Panaad Park and Stadium demolished because it does not belong to the province as its construction has no permit and has not passed through the bidding process.
She added though the governor has not given a deadline to the investigating team, he wants it resolved immediately.
On the part of Eva Resoor, who claimed to be the supplier for the construction of the Animal Hub, she said she is waiting for the results of the investigation.
She said she never went to Capitol after the Animal Hub controversy came out and that she has never talked to any official relative to the matter.
She also said she has already settled with her financier about the funds used for the construction of the Animal Hub.
She still refused to reveal the identity of her financier who already spent more than P3 million for the said building.
As of press time, Lawyer Mary Ann Lamis of the provincial legal office could not be reached for an update about the ongoing investigation which she heads.
Lamis is also the head of the Provincial Bids and Awards Committee.
