7 nabbed for illegal drugs, firearms and ammunition

THREE persons were arrested for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs while four others were collared for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition in separate operations in Negros Occidental in the past three days.

In Hinigaran town, Momer Prudente, 25, of Barangay Nanunga was collared in a buy-bust on May 5.

Personnel of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA-6) Western Visayas, Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU), and Hinigaran Municipal Police Station raided the house of Prudente, a high-value target (HVT) and a member of a drug group in the town.

Police recovered from him two sachets of suspected shabu (methamphetamine hydrochloride) amounting to P30,000, P1,000 marked money and a motorcycle.

In Cadiz City, Eufracio Bermeo, 50, of Barangay Zone 2 was arrested in a buy-bust operation on Cabahug Street in the said village on Saturday, May 5, after police seized from him four sachets of suspected shabu worth P2,000, a motorcycle, and P500 marked money. He is under the city’s drugs watchlist.

In Bacolod City, Lifranco Leyes, 28, of Barangay E. Lopez, Silay City, was arrested on May 5, at Burgos Street in Barangay 12 after he was caught in possession of a bladed weapon, and a sachet of suspected shabu. The suspect is detained at Police Station 1.

Meanwhile, Jeremy Tragano, 34, of Barangay III Poblacion, Pontevedra town was arrested after the police applied the search warrant on his house Friday night, May 4.

Police confiscated from Tragano two improvised 12 gauge shotgun, two cartridges, and a .38 caliber revolver loaded with five cartridges.

In San Carlos City, a 15-year-old minor was arrested in a shopping mall at Barangay Palampas on the same day after he was caught in possession of a .22 caliber magnum loaded with four live ammunition when he got involved in a commotion. He was turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) for custody.

In La Castellana town, Marlon Cabayaran, 42, of Barangay Sag-ang was arrested after he yielded a .38 caliber revolver with five live cartridges after the police raided his house on May 4.

In Toboso town, Nick Butch Leyte of Barangay Poblacion was arrested outside his house three days ago after he was caught by police in possession of a .45 caliber pistol tucked on his waist while he was drunk.

Also seized from him were 10 live ammunition, two magazines, and two cartridges of .45 caliber pistols, and a holster.(GYM)
