A NEW prayer booklet—this is what cancer survivor Cecile Paschner is giving out to friends and relatives in thanksgiving for her healing. With daughter Samantha, she flew in from San Francisco, California, with the prayer booklets which eye-catchingly highlight the word “Cancer” on the cover: C - Christ, A - Adoration, N - Novena, C - Confession, E - Eucharist and R - Rosary.

A baby girl is the new addition to the Muangkroot family. Shane and Ohh are the happy parents of Pam, who was baptized during mid-morning rites at the St. Therese Parish Church with Msgr. Roberto Alesna as officiating priest. A lunch reception followed at Casino Español de Cebu with grandparents Engr. Noppadon and Elma Muangkroot playing hosts.

The newest events venue in town is The Tent at Mandani Bay along F. Zuellig Ave. at the Mandaue reclamation area. With a floor space of 1,250 square meters, the place can accommodate more than a thousand guests with additional space at the adjacent garden...ideal for parties, concerts, corporate events etc.

Athecor Land, under the stewardship of president / chief executive officer Haydee King, has a new project called Aizen Flats, a walkup condominium in Barangay Alang-Alang in Mandaue City behind the Cortes Hospital. In the drawing board are 161 loft and studio units in the 2,000 square meter property.

Fast coming up at Cebu IT Park is 38 Park Avenue, the New York-inspired edifice developed by El Camino Developers Cebu Inc. and Cebu Landmasters Inc. Designed with world-class standards in mind, the proudly Cebuano-led project features a mixed-use urban park concept that includes a high-rise residential condo, office tower, and a retail promenade featuring a Central Park-inspired green park called The Plaza.

The most recent happening at the showroom of 38 Park Avenue was a night of jazz music featuring Cebuana seamstress-songstress Kate Torralba in an affair dubbed “Kick Off the Monday Blues.”
