FIRE razed ten houses on Wednesday afternoon, May 9, in Sitio Agay-ay, Barangay Tejero, Cebu City.

Two men were injured in the incident.

A traffic enforcer, identified as Roy Coronado, was reportedly injured after an electrocution. He was rushed to a private hospital.

Coronado of the Cebu City Transportation Office was helping manage traffic near the fire site when a live wire fell on a pool of water where he was standing, according to City Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office Chief Nagiel Bañacia.

Barangay Ermita fire volunteer Kyle Cantiveros suffered contusions.

The blaze reportedly started in the house of Willy Brigoli. Investigators are verifying reports that unattended cooking caused the fire.

The damages of properties were pegged at P100,000.

Firefighers and volunteers rushed to Agay-ay after receiving the alarm at 12:52 p.m. They controlled the flames from spreading to other houses and buildings at 3:17 p.m. (KAL/SunStar Cebu)
