WHEN winter leaves, can spring be far behind?
The Chinese, with great anticipation, welcome this fresh season very aptly, thanks to Consul General Shi Yong of the People’s Republic of China (PROC) in Cebu, and Ambassador Francisco Benedicto, head of the Cebu-Filipino Chinese United Company.
It was at the Grand Ballroom of Waterfront Cebu City Hotel, where “The Cultures of China-Festival of Spring” was presented by the national opera and Dance Drama Theater Troupe of China and mesmerized a packed audience with their varied, precise and spectacular repertoire of songs and dances. And ooohhh, those fabulous costumes!
This spectacle of a show was organized by the Overseas Chinese Affairs Office of the State Council, Consulate General of the PROC in Cebu and the Cebu Filipino Chinese Community.
We will let the photos tell most of the story!
The year 2017 was indeed a year of plenty for good friend Dr. Warfe Engracia, who is known by the many hats he wears!
Aside from being a renowned radiologist, having been assigned in hospitals in Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia, he is also a direct descendant of the historical Rajah Tupas, and for relaxation, is a baritone at heart.
Our singing doctor also dabbles in poetry, drama and the silver screen. But it is his doctorate degree, Honoris Causa from the Northwestern Christian University in Florida (USA) and the Most Outstanding Individual in Art and Culture Award, he received from the Cebu City Government on Charter Day that made him deliriously happy.
So in heartfelt appreciation for one and all who brought him to where he is now, Warfe hosted a thanksgiving dinner at the Casino Español de Cebu.
Congrats, Doc, you truly deserve all those accolades!
