FIFTEEN stories out of the 80 entries submitted in "Istorya ng Pag-asa" (Stories of Hope) will be shown nationwide.

Vice President Maria Leonor “Leni” Robredo launches the “Istorya ng Pag-asa (INP)" on Wednesday at St. John Vianney Hall in the Bishop’s House, Bacolod City.

Robredo said INP aims to inspire and instill hope for everyone despite the many problems our country is facing. Through INP, we do not just hear the word war and criticisms, but also inspiring stories of people who have gone through a lot of tests in life, she added.

"We are doing this so there will still be hope in our hearts. Every day people would just read about issues and quarreling. So we came out with the launching of INP so we would read not only the word war and criticisms but inspiring stories of people who have gone through a lot of tests in life. Like there is a story of someone who was abandoned at the age of three but has become successful. Inspiring stories of ordinary Filipinos who went through a lot of difficulties in life," Robredo said.

The 15 finalists will be featured during the INP Short Film Festival Gala Night on June 12 at the Globe Amphitheater in Bonifacio Global City, which is in partnership with Ayala Foundation.

Video of the winners will be shown in all Ayala cinemas nationwide before the start of the movie.

She was joined by Bacolod Bishop Patricio Buzon, and former Negros Occidental governor Rafael Coscolluela who suggested to her to also launch INP in Negros Occidental after it was launched at the University of St. La Salle on October 19, 2017.

The INP was already launched in 11 centers in the different parts of the country including Bacolod, Dumaguete City and Manjuyod in Negros Oriental.

Robredo said Coscolluela also suggested to come out with a magazine to feature these inspiring stories.
