Must be good

Must be good

WE had guests on a Sunday evening and Maan was out of town that meant, bringing the guests and the kids along for dinner. I'm talking about my best buddy Kublai, his kids, and his guests.

There were limitations to our choices though, the wife of Kublai's guest Danny had instructed him to go slow on the food. This, after Danny and his brother George escaped and had their fill of crabs at lunch on that day.

We were instructed to eat healthy. Thus, the choice was seafood in this place that has been there for some time now, but which we have not tried out: RD Crab Shack along F. Torres Street (where Frogkaffee is located).

The nice thing about this place is that you do not have problem with parking, and there's the coffeeshop right in the same compound. Healthy food means fresh seafood minus the crabs.

We got sinigang na shrimp, grilled squid, grilled belly (after being assured that it's Big Eye Tuna they are serving), grilled panga (also Big Eye), and sizzling Bagaybay.

What I didn't realize is that when you are with hungry kids, you won't be able to catch the food as it's served before it some digs into it rendering the remaining serving not worthy of an Instagram post.

I did manage to catch a few. I never stood a chance against the grilled squid and panga though. They were attacked with forks and knives even before I could snap a shot and I forgot to take a photo of the sinigang. That the food disappeared fast shows it must have been good.

I did find the food fresh, and when eating seafood that is the only quality you will be looking for. I say, RD Crab Shack deserves to be checked out if you're craving for our staple "inihaw". It has a huge open-air dining area and spacious airconned room. Just choose your wild.

RD Crab Shack is at Prime Square Compound along F. Torres Street. We had our coffee next door.
