A concerned citizen relayed to the town police that a certain Manny was engaged in illegal drug trade at South Daang Bakal in said village.

Acting on the report, Mendoza sent a team of policemen, including Senior Inspector Kenneth Vega, Senior Police Officer 1 Dante Almario and Police Officer 2 Robert Lurzano to conduct an operation against the reported drug dealer.

A buy-bust operation was conducted by the team led by Vega, chief of the Municipal Police Intelligence Branch, which resulted to Papas' arrest.

When accosted, Papas yielded the P500 marked money, according to Vega.

The town police filed a case before the Provincial Prosecutor's Office against Papas for the violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Inquest Prosecutor Arsenio Bumacod confirmed Papas' detention. No bail was recommended for the suspect, police said.
