Armed men robbed hardware employees

THREE employees of a hardware store were robbed by unidentified armed men on Rosario-Lopez Jaena Streets at Barangay 33, Bacolod City on Friday, May 11.

Police identified the victims as Chris Chiar Montero of Barangay Sag-ang, La Castellana; Wendell Compuesto of Barangay Balintawak, Escalante City; and Redmark Yanson of Barangay II in Bacolod City.

The victims were waiting for the hardware to open when Carlos Hullero, 33, of Barangay Sum-ag, together with his unidentified companions declared a hold-up, police records showed.

The victims alleged that another robber on board a motorcycle was tailing them when they reached the hardware.

The robbers carted away the construction materials worth P300,000 that were placed on the delivery truck parked in front of the hardware.

Police Station 6 recovered the stolen items from a certain Jose Mario Jimeno Mhayong, owner of Mhayong Sand and Gravel in Bago City.

Mhayong alleged that he had a transaction with a certain Martin Santero of Bago City through a phone call.

Then it was reportedly delivered to him by Hullero, based on a copy of the closed circuit television camera footage.

The investigation is still ongoing.

The following day, two unidentified men who pretended to be passengers of a taxi attempted to rob the 46-year-old driver, whose name was withheld, on 26th Lacson-Aguinaldo Streets, Barangay 1, Bacolod City.

Police records showed that the suspects flagged down the taxi on 11th Lacson Street and told him to bring them to a coffee shop at Barangay 1 when they declared a hold-up.

The driver grappled with one of the suspects and managed to escape and sought the assistance of a security guard at a TV station while the suspects fled.

In Talisay City, two relatives were arrested after they robbed the house of a 62-year-old woman at Barangay Conception Saturday, May 12.

Collared were Jade Toledo, 18, and his minor-relative, whose name was withheld.

Police recovered from Toledo P3,500 in cash, and a brass knuckles while the minor yielded P3,900 in cash and a cellular phone.

The complainant alleged that she lost P30,000 in cash and a cellular phone. (GYM)
