UNIVERSITY of San Agustin-Iloilo takes on Murcia and Ateneo de Iloilo faces the University of St. La Salle when the 4th JGM Finance Corporation U17 Volleyball Tournament opens Friday, May 18, at the Bacolod Tay Tung High School covered courts.
In Bracket B, Colegio San Agustin-Bacolod and La Carlota City Selection will collide in Court 1, while in Court 2, Ateneo de Cebu-A and Bacolod Tay Tung High School-B try to outsmart each other.
Before the formal opening ceremony, Bracket C’s Trinity Christian School meets Bingawan in Court 1, while Bracket A’s Bacolod Tay Tung High School-A tests Assumption Antipolo.
In the opening rites, UP Women’s Volleyball Team Head Coach Godfrey Owese Okumu will give his inspirational message to the participants.
He will be joined by UP Lady Maroons stars Diana Mae “Toots” Carlos, Maria Lina Isabel Molde and Bacolod City-hailed Ma. Arielle Estranero.
Okumu will also induct the Negros Federation of Volleyball Enthusiasts Inc. new set of officers and will lead the free clinic tomorrow for girls aged 12 years old, and up.
This volleyball event is made possible through the initiative of JGM president Jose Montalbo in order to strengthen the volleyball competitiveness in the province and Visayas region.
