ONE of the country’s most popular love teams and real-life couple James Reid and Nadine Lustre (JaDine) had their concert last May 19 at the Hoops Dome in Lapu-Lapu City as the last stop of their “rEVOLution” concert tour. Reid and Lustre also performed alongside Sam Concepcion, Kiana Valenciano and Bret Jackson.
The night before the concert, JaDine, Valenciano and Concepcion attended a short meet and greet with the sponsors, some members of the media and some lucky fans at the Celebrity Ballroom of the Montebello Villa Hotel.
“This one (revolution concert) was really conceptualized by myself and Nadine, especially Nadine--from the title to the videos, the songs--even the songs are mostly original. So this is really a product of JaDine,” said Reid.
Despite the late arrival of Reid to the venue, the fans didn’t miss the chance to surprise him and greet him a happy birthday. Montebello sales director Concon Kintanar gave Reid a cake. The actor and singer celebrated his 25th birthday last May 11.
“I don’t really have a gift kasi ang gusto lang naman niya (Reid) is for all of us to be together. To celebrate all together,” Lustre said.
Reid and Lustre celebrated their second anniversary together in Siargao last Feb. 12.
To recall, JaDine’s first ever team-up movie together was “Diary ng Panget” in 2014. But before this, Reid and Lustre had met already on the set of the music video “Alam Niya Ba.”
“Diary ng Panget” was a success and many fans fell in love with the then newfound tandem.
They also starred in other successful movies such as “Talk Back and You’re Dead,” “Para Sa Hopeless Romantic” and “This Time.” They were also widely known as Lea and Clark in their top-rated TV series, “On the Wings of Love” (“Otwol”). It was during the shooting for “Otwol” that Reid and Lustre took a step in changing their relationship status.
Reid announced their relationship in the concert “JaDine in Love” on Feb. 20, 2016 at the Araneta Coliseum. The two announced that they started dating on Feb. 11, 2016.
Reid and Lustre also starred in another top-rating TV series, “Till I Met You,” in 2016. Their latest blockbuster movie was released earlier this year: “Never Not Love You.”
For their upcoming projects, Reid is in the cast of “Miss Granny” with Sarah Geronimo. Lustre is also preparing for her first solo film.
