P12 wage hike in Northern Mindanao takes effect July 3

EFFECTIVE Friday, workers in Northern Mindanao will get a P12 increase in their daily wage.

The increase was approved by the Regional Tripartite Wages and Productivity Board (RTWPB) in Northern Mindanao last month.

The pay hike covers workers in the four wage categories.

In Wage Category I, the minimum pay in the cities of Cagayan de Oro and Iligan and the municipalities of Tagoloan, Villanueva and Jasaan in Misamis has been increased to P318 for non-agricultural workers and P306 for agricultural workers.

In Wage Category II, the minimum pay in the cities of Malabalay, Valencia, Gingoog, El Salvador and Ozamiz and the municipalities of Maramag, Quezon and Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon will be P313 for non-agricultural workers and P301 for agricultural workers.

In Wage Category III, the minimum pay in the cities of Oroquieta and Tangub and the municipalities of Lugait Opol and Mambajao, will be P308 for non-agricultural workers and P296 for agricultural workers.

In Wage Category IV, which applies to all other areas not covered under the first three categories, the minimum wage is P303 for non-agricultural workers, and P291 for agricultural workers.

The increase does not apply to household or domestic workers, who are covered by the Batas Kasambahay, persons in the personal service of another, including family drivers, and workers in registered Barangay Micro Business Enterprises with Certificates of Authority.
