Beauty regimen of the #Almost40

HOW do you maintain your glow? How do you take care of yourself? How do you manage to still have that youthful glow despite your busy schedule?

I often hear these from friends who appear in awe of why some have remained glowing all these years.

Nearing the age of 40 is both exciting and scary at the same time. Well, you may say that it may only be applicable to me. Mind you, I have heard few people who share the same sentiments with me.

Dealin with life’s daily struggles - from home to office - never comes easy all the time. There are even instances that it hit you so bad that you somehow forget how to look good.

To the moms out there who, just like me, have been handling a lot of responsibilities day in and day out, I have these few simple beauty tips for us to still look gorgeous amid our busy life and despite being #Almost40.

Moisturize. As we age, we cannot deny the fact that our skin ages, too. It is, therefore, important that we put on moisturizer every day to keep our skin soft and supple. Personally, I use Myra Vitasoft moisturizer. For less than a hundred pesos, I already enjoy its vitamin E that really hydrates and smoothens my face.

Minimize your wrinkles. Fine lines everywhere on our face are always part of aging, right? But we can minimize them. In the morning, I apply ample amount of Pond’s Age Miracle Cell ReGEN day cream. It has helped minimize my facial lines.

Sunblock. With the harsh heat I have to face every day, I never forget to put on a generous amount of sunblock all over my face and body. I use Belo’s. And whenever I feel like visiting the beach, I also apply Belo’s After Sun Gel to increase my protection from the harmful rays of the sun.

Less makeup. Honestly, I am not really a makeup person. Well, I have a fee MAC lippies and eyeshadow but they are just reserved for special occasions. On a daily basis, I use The Face Shop’s Miracle Finish CC cream. It’s long-lasting so I don’t need to re-apply throughout the day. It is also hypoallergenic so it is truly safe for someone like me who has extra sensitive skin.

For my brows (because kilay is life!), I use Etude House’s. It is retractable and triangle shaped for easy application. It has vitamin E, too, for that soft touch. All you can enjoy for less than P200.

For my cheeks and lips, I have a new discovery. I now use BN Whitening Shoppe’s Cheek and Lip Tint. The orange variant is perfect for the morena. They have a stall at Gaisano Mall in Bajada and Toril and SM City Davao. You can buy it for less than P150 for a 15ml tube.

Cleanse. Before going to bed, make sure that you have totally get your face free of dust and makeup. To wash my face, I use Skinfood’s Rice Brightening Scrub Foam. It leaves the skin soft and supple after each wash.

After washing, I use Pond’s toner then apply BN Whitening Shoppe’s Snow White to help my face “repair” and regenerate its cells while I sleep. And I must say that getting a “woke up like this” selfie is never a problem anymore since your skin glows naturally the moment you wake up.

Hope you get something helpful from these tips. If you have some more there, please do not hesitate to contact me and let us share them with the members of our tribe.
