TWO Dabawenyo families won the P1 million jackpot and a trip for 5 to the United States during the Shell’s Choose Your Own Adventure raffle draw.
Last Thursday, May 24, winners of the raffle draw were awarded at the Quimpo Boulevard Shell Station near Matina Enclaves. The promo ran from January 15 to March 15 in which customers who fueled up at least P1,500 worth of Fuel Save or V-Power, they are given coupons they can fill out and drop in drop boxes located in Shell Stations nationwide.
“For that specific promo, it was the same for all whether it’s Fuel Save or V-Power. So it’s very easy to understand the promo and to be executed also by our staff because they have the same purchase requirement of at least P1,500,” said Brandy Briones, the Fuels Retail Marketing Implementor.
He added that when they gathered all the entries nationwide, prizes with the most entries are the P1 million and the trip to the USA.
Out of the million entries nationwide that were chosen from, fish vendor Ruchineec A. Bulalong of Tagum City was chosen the winner of the tax-free P1 million. She is a fish vendor that had started helping with his father in selling fishes since she was 15. Through the years, she said they had always used Shell since her father used to say it does not damage their engine.
“I am very happy that we were able to win the P1 million. We actually fuel up our van or Vios whenever we have fish delivery transactions at Governor Generoso. Sometimes in a day, we can fuel up three to four times, that’s why we were able to have many coupon entries as well,” said Bulalong.
She added the prize money will be helpful to their plans of further expanding their fish buy-and-sell fish as well as for the education of her nieces and nephews whom she helps graduate.
On the other hand, part of Shell’s Choose Your Own Adventure raffle draw are trips to different parts of the world. Another Dabawenyo famiy from Ma-a, Davao City won a trip for 5 to the United States. When Myra Flor Hortal was called to be congratulated by Shell that they won, at first they would not want to believe, thinking that it was a scam.
Hortal’s family is driving a Wigo which they are using to fuel up in different Shell Stations in Davao City. They plan to have the trip to the United States on October when the kids are on their semestral break from school.
“Ever since, we had been used to fuel up at Shell. It helps that they tied up with a mall that I have a customer privilege card because I also earn points for every Shell transactions,” Hortal said.
She added they are very thankful to have had won the trip and would sure to enjoy the all-expense 4-nights and 5 days trip wherein they are also provided with a P50,000 pocket-money for them to enjoy it all the more.
