SEVEN minors were arrested by police operatives after they were accused of molesting a nine-year-old girl on Sunday in Barangay Carmen, this city.
The minors, aged 11, 13, 14 and 15, are all residents of Zone 8, Landfill, Zayas in Barangay Carmen.
Initial investigation showed that the victim, who was accompanied by her brother, reported the incident to police authorities only on Tuesday.
It was the victim's brother who told police that they knew about the incident only on Tuesday after his sister told them.
Police immediately conducted a manhunt operation against the seven suspects who were later arrested inside their respective houses.
SPO1 Fernando Laspoña of the Carmen Police Station said the suspects are temporarily placed under the custody of the Tahanan ng Kabataan.
Based on the result of medical examinations, the girl was positively molested after different kinds of male's semen were found in her private parts.
Cases of rape are now being readied against the seven minors though police said the prerogative now lies on the fiscal if the cases would actually be filed considering that the suspects are all minors.
"Basin ang 15 anyos ra ang mapasakahan og kaso kay wala pa gyuy mga buot ang uban, nag-ngisi ra man gani dihang gipangutana," Laspoña said.
The victim is now placed under the custody of the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD). (ALR)
