Members of the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) Magilas Class of 76 said that there is a big possibility for Chief of staff Victor Ibrado to extend his term in AFP, adding: “(It) will be for the good of the uniformed service and for the best interest of the country.”

President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo will decide whether to extend Ibrado’s term or not, an official said.

Retired Philippine National Police (PNP) official Leopoldo Bataoil, PMA Class 76 president, said it will be an honor for their batch if Ibrado’s term will be extended.

“Cavalier CSAFP Bong Ibrado is a popular choice by Senior and Junior Officers of the AFP including highly respectable top ranking government officials," he said.

"It is indeed an honor for the PMA Magilas Class of 76, if he will continue leading the AFP especially during this election period for continuing stability. It is for the good of the uniformed service and the best interest of the country,” Bataoil remarked.

PNP Chief Director General Jesus Verzosa is also a member of PMA Class 76.
