THREE more Cordillera-based fighters and a Korean was included in the undercard of the Miami, Florida based World Kickboxing League in their upcoming event on June 10 slated at the Hainan Ding’an Sports Stadium in China.

Highland Boxing Gym’s Jeremy Bastian, Biondi Dayangadang, Kathleen Papti-e, and Seongjin Chun were confirmed to be in the undercard headlined by undefeated MMA fighter Jujeath Nagaowa against Thailand’s Kannika Bangnara for the World Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) League minimumweight world title.

Dayangadang, whose record stands at three wins and one loss will take on China's Cao Ren Jie while Bastian will debut against Sasha Palatnikov.

Papti-e will also debut in the event against Dong Huaxiang together with DMAD MMA's Seongjin Chun taking on Asokdass of Malaysia.

Brico Santig of the Highland Boxing Gym said he has high hopes for the Cordillerans to excel in the competition specially with Nagaowa who remains undefeated in her three MMA bouts.

Santig added Nagaowa is considered a favorite against her debuting Thai opponent.

“Malaki ang pag-asa ni Jujeath na umagta sa MMA kasi undefeated siya. Sa experience pa lang lamang na siya sa kalaban pero we are not taking the Thailander lightly,” added Santig.

Before venturing as an MMA fighter, Nagaowa started her pro boxing career at 18 when she debuted and won against Chona Chokowen in Bacarra, Ilocos Norte.

Her big break in boxing came in May 2010 when she fought but lost to Samson Tor Buama for the vacant WIBA world minimum weight belt.

But on June 6, 2015, Nagaowa finally won the vacant WIBA International light flyweight title against Yu Jie Luo via a unanimous decision at the Forum de Macao in Macao, China.

Another Filipino, Garry Espinar, is also included in the stacked fight card as he seeks to improve his 4-5 win loss record against another debuting Thailander Tiger Son Bangkru. (Roderick Osis)
