HOPES are high for the Davao City elementary and secondary tennis teams in the 2010 Davao Region Athletic Association (Davraa) Meet on March 18 to 20 in Mati, Davao Oriental.
Jomary Justin Guira, Jasper Accion, Jaffary Cariga and Roddie Mar Ibarreta are entered in the elementary boys team event while Palarong Pambansa 2009 gold medal performer Jenni Celine Dizon will lead the girls team that is also composed of Dana Abad and Letlet Aniana.
In the secondary division, Rogelio Estaño Jr. Joel Cabusas, Henry Notarte and Clee Jay Alba¤o will power the boys squad while the Genevieve Coarte, Joellene Accion, Ann Rene Castillo and Mary Ann Galinato will lead the charge in the distaff side.
Compostela Valley and Davao Oriental netters, however, are expected to put up a stiff competition while Davao de Sur bets may pull off surprises in the tennis event that will serve as qualifying event for the Palarong Pambansa set in April in Tarlac.
Arnis, athletics, swimming and sepak takraw regional eliminations will also be held in Mati, while the other events will be hosted by Bansalan, Panabo and Nabunturan.
