Balik-Eskwela Diskwento Caravan in Balanga earns P2.5 million

ABOUT P2.5 million in sales were generated during the Balik-Eskwela Diskwento Caravan of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) which was held last May 16-18 at the Plaza Mayor de Ciudad de Balanga.

DTI Bataan Consumer Protection Division head Connie Sanico revealed that nine out of 102 exhibitors were victims of the Balanga City mall fire incident which affected numerous stall owners and micro entrepreneurs in the province.

“I am very happy to say that the nine stall owners who were victims of the mall fire had earned P321,000 in sales in the three-day fair,” Sanico said.

The city government of Balanga also showed its support to the mall fire victims by extending their stay for two days which lasted until May 20.

The annual fair featured school supplies and uniforms that offered a minimum of 10 percent discount for every product.

“Diskwento Caravan is a way of helping both the consumers by offering them high quality products with huge discounts, and our micro, small and medium enterprises so they can generate bigger sales,” Sanico furthered. (CLJD/MJSD-PIA 3)
