IN HIS four-month stint, outgoing regional director Chief Supt. Robert Quenery said that his greatest achievement as head of the Police Regional Office (PRO) 7 was a decrease in the region’s index crimes by 35.8 percent compared to the first quarter of last year.
Quenery was recently designated as the deputy director for comptrollership in the national headquarters in Camp Crame, a designation that he described as a “dream come true.”
“It’s a new challenge for me. Ang tagal ko nang pinangarap na ma-assign sa comptroller to increase my knowledge in logistical and financial management,” he said.
He will be replaced by Chief Supt. Debold Sinas, former chief of the crime laboratory in Crame.
Quenery advised the incoming PRO 7 director to take care of the personnel.
“Empower them because they have so may skills and talents that you can utilize,” he said.
The outgoing regional director said that leaving the region is hard, but he is welcoming his new assignment.
“Four months is quite short. The orders came in very surprising for me. Kung gaano kabilis yung pagdating ko sa Cebu, yun din kabilis yung pag-alis ko and I hope I have given you necessary motivation,” he said.
In his speech during his farewell ceremony, Quenery reiterated the need to support the administration’s thrust of fighting the proliferation of illegal drugs and crimes.
Quenery is among the top officials in Central Visayas who was affected by a major revamp implemented by Philippine National Police Chief Oscar Albayalde.
Quenery is set to leave his post this week.
Quenery replaced Chief Supt. Jose Espino as PRO 7 director last January. (JOB)
