HOW do you save the seas?

One way is the “Adopt a Clam” campaign, which gives clams a safe and healthy environment where they can thrive and reproduce.

During a benefit dinner for the “Clam Cause,” 50 giant clams were adopted and will be named after their donors.

Venue for this very relevant cause was the Azure Beach club at Crimson Resort and Spa-Mactan, which co-presented the event: “Summer Soul” with Metro Society, Metro Style and Metro Channel.

It just had to be the season’s most upscale soiree. It’s back to where it all began a decade ago at the soul of the south—Cebu!

Local luminaries scintillated in all-white garb as they sipped cocktails courtesy of The Botanist and posed for glam shots with Kenneth Cobonpue’s classy furniture. Later, a benefit at the beach was hosted by the effervescent Tim Yap and statuesque Joey Mead-King. Indeed, they were able to elevate their cause to new heights.

They were joined by more VIPs from the metro: ABS-CBN’s head of the lifestyle group Paolo Pineda and Metro Channel hosts Marc Nelson, Maggie Wilson-Consunji, Anton Barreto and Tricia Centenera, and Metro Society’s editor-in-chief Raul Manzano.

As if things were not exciting enough, there were special awards given to Divine Maitland-Smith (Naughty with Tommy prize); Menchu Ouano-Razavi (best summer hair of the night).

Aquafina gave the best-dressed man prize to Kevin Siao, while the best-dressed woman award went to Kris Tiffany Janson.

The night was still young so guests danced to a DJ’s music while enjoying unlimited drinks and great company.

And the clams? Why, they had a new lease on life!
