MORE speculations are brewing on the fate of the Cleveland Cavaliers and the next move of LeBron James after arch-rival Golden State Warriors swept the NBA Finals Series, 4-0, via a 108-85 win in Game 4 at the former's homecourt Saturday.

It was the first sweep in the NBA Finals since 2007.

Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Chairman William Ramirez, in a Facebook interview with SunStar Davao Saturday, said it would be good for James to stay with Cleveland where he is loved by the people and the city -- things that money can't buy.

“Just reorganize the coaching staff and add three seven-foot power and shooting forwards and three small shooting guards,” the PSC chief recommended, adding that James must play the game as a team. “It's usually five against LeBron and basketball is a team game.”

The Warriors, according to him, were playing as one and is a very organized organization from coaching staff to the utility personnel.

PSC Commissioner Charles Raymond Maxey said trading Kyrie Irving was a bad move for the Cavaliers but the Warriors just had too much firepower.

Maxey said, “The Cavs have to rebuild, but there is that possibility of LeBron leaving again. It's his cup of tea, searching for the right team just to win. He's a born winner and hates to lose.”

Ateneo de Davao University elementary boys’ basketball coach Harry Hipolito said James is inherently competitive. “He wants to win and break records in the NBA, not to mention, he wants to surpass the records of Michael Jordan.” Thus, the champion coach said James could be lured to stay in Cleveland if he gets to play with other superstars for another shot at the NBA title.

But the Los Angeles Lakers, Houston Rockets and Philadelphia 76ers may entice him with better offers and more superstars so a transfer is inevitable.

Mark Samante, Ateneo de Davao University director for community engagement and advocacy council, said: “If James wants to break records, he should stay with Cleveland but if he wants to contend, he must move to another team.”

Philippine Sports Institute deputy director Marlon Malbog said that it would be a wait-and-see for James after series debacle the Cavs just suffered.
