FOR KA•T•ON’s supplemental program, its Entrepreneurship Exposure Program, beneficiaries are taught the values in relation to being creative, passionate, flexible, communicative and having accountability as well as market research, purchasing, production, marketing, basic accounting and other major aspects that cover business practices.

We have Hadjie, a graduating junior public high school student of Barangay Luz National High School, who also happens to be one of the 40 students of this program.

“After graduating Grade 10, I want to continue and eventually finish my studies. I also intend to help my mom out in her biko (rice cake) business. The Entrepreneurship Exposure Program is really helpful. I am able to apply the lessons I learned here when I help my mom,” says Hadjie.

This program runs four times a week every Tuesday and Thursday with students attending homework assistance on Wednesdays and primary tutorial sessions on Saturdays. This is intended to divert the beneficiaries from online gaming, which in reality is a form of online gambling.

The Barangay Impact Visayas Management is currently looking for Volunteer Tutors who are interested to join the KA•T•ON Barangay Junior Public High School Tutorial Program with Entrepreneurship Exposure. Interested volunteer applicants must be at least 18 years old and should possess the heart and knowledge base to tutor junior public high school students (Grade 7 to 10) in either Math or English. Applicants must be willing to commit to one tutorial cycle or 10 weeks of tutorial sessions (one hour every Wednesday and two hours every Saturday) from June to August 2018.
