Independence Day jobs fair offers over 11K vacancies

THE Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) is commemorating the 120th celebration of the Independence Day with the conduct of “Trabaho, Negosyo, and Kabuhayan (Job, Business and Livelihood)” fair in Zamboanga City.

DOLE regional director Ofelia Domingo said the fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at the East Wing Activity Center of KCC Mall de Zamboanga.

Domingo said 21 employers will be offering 11,532 job vacancies, both for local and overseas placement.

She said those who have already registered online during the Labor Day Job Fair need not register again since their data are already stored in the system.

“Job seekers can also check our Facebook Page – DOLE Zampen Region where we they can find the participating employers and available jobs so they can better prepare for the job fair,” she said.

She also reminded jobseekers to prepare the following application documents: resume or curriculum vitae in multiple copies; 2x2 ID pictures; certificates of employment for those who were previously employed; diploma and transcript of records; and, an authenticated birth certificate.

She advised the applicants to wear appropriate attire for the interview to appear presentable to employers.

The TNK is a joint undertaking of DOLE and Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) which aims to bring jobs and livelihood opportunities to communities. (Bong Garcia)
