CAMP OLIVAS -- Four men were killed in two separate police drug busts conducted in Pampanga and Nueva Ecija last Saturday, June 9.
The fatalities were identified as Alvin Lingat and two of his unidentified cohorts, all residents of Barangay Malpitic, City of San Fernando; and Jeffry Pascual of Gapan City, Nueva Ecija.
The City of San Fernando police Drug Enforcement Unit (DEU) conducted the anti-illegal drugs operation against Lingat and his two cohorts in Barangay Malpitic.
Upon sensing the presence of policemen, the suspects reportedly drew their guns and fired gunshot onto the lawmen who retaliated killing the three on the spot.
Recovered from their possessions were 18 sachets of shabu, two revolvers, a calibre .45, a black cellphone, a Red Honda TMX 155, five bullets for calibre .38, two sling bags, drug paraphernalia and the P2,277 marked money.
Senior Superintendent Nicolas Salvador, Pampanga Police acting provincial director, said the suspect together with his cohorts were on the target list of drug personalities in the province.
Salvador said the suspects were reportedly involved in large scale delivery sale of illegal drugs in the province.
Police said Pascual traded shots with police operatives during a buy-bust operation in Barangay Bayanihan, Gapan City when he sensed that his buyer is a police officer.
During the firefight, the suspect suffered gunshot wounds in the body and died instantly. (Ric Sapnu)
