Inventory on needs of health centers

DAVAO City Mayor Sara Z. Duterte-Carpio said they are conducting inventory on the needs of health centers to address the shortage of manpower and materials.

Duterte-Carpio said the City Health Office (CHO) is making the first move, conducting inventory on the areas that needs to be prioritized.

"That is their effort, the effort to inventory first the needs of our health centers; inventory of the needs in terms of infrastructure, movable things that are needed inside the health center, and from then on and now, we can provide the necessary budget for the needs depending on the priority," she said.

Earlier, CHO technical officer Julinda Acosta said due to the increasing population in the Davao City, barangays here are experiencing a shortage of doctors, nurses and midwives.

Acosta, in a media forum last week, said the city population reached 1.7 million and the manpower of the city has not increased in number since the 1990s.
