Youth leader denies 'beach outing' with fellow SK chiefs

JOHN Jesson Gimenez, the newly elected Sangguniang Kabataan federation president of Minglanilla, Cebu denied allegations he brought fellow SK chairpersons to a beach outing three days prior to the SK Federation elections.

"I have asked my lawyer to file a motion before the Sanggunian to quash Justin (Tecson)'s complaint for the very reason that there is no truth to the allegation that the victory party I organized was a form of campaigning before my fellow SK chairpersons on the 27th," said Gimenez.

Barangay Poblacion Ward 1 SK chairman Niño Justin Tecson alleged that Gimenez brought the youth leaders to a beach resort in Alcoy last May 27.

Gimenez, for his part said, he was with fellow government youth leaders last May 21 and 22 in a beach resort to celebrate his "victory" in the recent barangay and SK elections.

Gimenez instead challenged Tecson to substantiate his claims.

Tecson, in a separate interview, said that aside from pictures, he has videos and eyewitness testimony to prove that the beach outing happened on May 27. (JKV/SunStar Cebu)
