ELECTED officials of six of this city’s 98 villages took their oath of office before 1st district Representative Celso Lobregat in a simple ceremony Wednesday at the official’s residence in Zamboanga City.
They are from the villages of Cacao, Bolong, Culianan, Sta. Catalina, Zone II, and Zone IV.
The villages of Zones II and IV fall within the political jurisdiction of the first congressional district while Bolong, Cacao, Culianan and Sta. Catalina belong to the second district.
Lobregat said he administered the oath of office upon the request of the elected officials from the six villages.
“It was them who requested me to administer the oath of office. I am just complying their wish since we have the same vacant schedules,” Lobregat said.
Lobregat, as an elected congressman, can administer the oath of elected Barangay officials as provided for under the existing law.
Lobregat conveyed his utmost congratulations to all the newly elected and re-elected barangay officials of the 98 villages of the city.
He urged them to work together for the progress and development of this city.
He said the election is over and it’s time to buckle down to work for the benefit of the constituents of their respective villages. (Bong Garcia/SunStar Philippines)
