SECURITY preparations are in place in the different mosques in Cebu City for the Eid al-Fitr celebration tomorrow.
Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) Director Joel Doria said that aside from uniformed police officers, police in plain clothes will also be detailed near the mosques.
“I already gave directives to guard the mosques in our areas of responsibility,” Doria said, although he assured that the CCPO hasn’t received any threat.
As to the Muslim police officers, Doria said they are exempted from duty so they can join in the celebration at the end of the Ramadan month. Eid al-Fitr means the Festival of Breaking Fast.
About 100,000 Muslims live in Cebu, according to the National Commission on Muslim Filipinos. (JOB)
