3 nabbed in anti-drug ops, P250,000 worth of ‘shabu’ seized

POLICE authorities have arrested three seaweed farmers and seized P250,000 worth of illegal drugs in a buy-bust operation in Zamboanga City.

The Police Regional Office-Zamboanga Peninsula identified the arrested suspects as the following: Abdurajan Nawadi, 24; Al-dewan Tayah, 38; and, Esil Amenol, 41.

The police said they were arrested in a buy-bust operation by the operatives of the Regional Special Operation Group-Regional Drugs Enforcement Unit-9 around 1:30 p.m., on Tuesday, June 12, at La Purisima Street in the village of Zone 3.

The police said seized from the suspects’ possessions were P250,000 worth of methamphetamine hydrochloride, locally known as “shabu,” packed in one small and five big-sized heat-sealed transparent plastic sachets and P400 marked money consisting of two P200 bills.

The suspects were temporarily detained at Police Station 9 headquarters pending the filing of appropriated case against them, the police said. (SunStar Philippines)
